The Ulama Council of Michigan was founded in 2006 to serve the Muslim community of Metropolitan Detroit by providing Islamic guidance and resources through education, availability of scholarship, and community service. The Council is comprised of highly-qualified Muslim scholars (ulama) trained in the traditional Islamic sciences. It strives to uphold the authentic teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, as understood by the Sahabah and early generations of Muslims, the mujtahid Imams, and the Awliya. The vision of the council is to provide holistic Islamic guidance to the Muslims of metro-Detroit and promote healthy interactions with the greater community.
